(from the Greek orthos “straight” and dontos “teeth”)
Improper position of teeth or jaws due to developmental irregularities may result in bite disturbances (malocclusions). Malocclusions are diagnosed with proper clinical examinations that may in addition comprise plaster model evaluations, photography and radiographs for cephalometric analysis.
Most malocclusions can be corrected with various orthodontic treatments that may include the use of fixed or removable appliance on teeth. The severity of the malocclusions will determine if, when and which type of orthodontic treatment plan may be most beneficial in each individual case.
Patients (both children and adults) in need for orthodontic treatment are welcome to contact our dental office for a consultation with our experienced orthodontist.
